Being invited to capture Ben and Elyse’s wedding was a real highlight for me. For starters, I’ve always loved Nimbo Fork. It’s definitely my kind of space. Lot’s of fresh alpine air and a river as crystal clear as water gets. Everything up there kind of just slows down. I feel like there’s already a story to be told up there before the first people even arrive. I could tell from our initial conversations that Elyse was after a simple family orientated day to match the beautiful location. That’s my kind of wedding day for sure.

I love the family dynamic at a wedding. There always seems to be less of a focus on the details and more fun when kids are around. It gives everyone a shot in the arm when little people are getting up to mischief. They break down all the adult ‘seriousness’ in a hreatbeat. Everything seems to get just a little bit brighter. The small stressful parts of a wedding quickly fade off into the distance every time a child laughs.

I think there’s something truly special in the air up in these hills and it showed on everyone’s faces. I also think it helped Ben and Elyse be super present on their day. That’s a wonderful gift that I wish for every couple.
