My Wedding Showreel
My Approach to Wedding Photography
Your story is everything
I see weddings as big collections of special moments that add up to much more than any single image ever could be on its own. Conversations between old friends, hugs, kisses, tears, laughter and wild dance moves. I want to put all of that in my camera to create a heartfelt account of each and every couple’s special day. My entire approach to wedding photography is centred around telling your unique wedding story, showing the real spirit of the people present and capturing the energy of the day itself.
The magic of keeping it real
I think the pictures of your day need to be genuine moments captured as they actually happen so you see your day just as it was. Even when there is time to make some creative portraits together, I’ll be looking for natural expressions and genuine moments that show who you really are. Hopefully you can see this approach reflected in the stories on my blog. I’m pretty sneaky for most of the day. I hate the idea of getting in the way but I will always be there for you when you need me. I’m not into posing people in silly, awkward positions and while I am at it, I’ll never ask you to cut the cake early or fake a bridal waltz so I can go home. Let’s just allow the day to take it’s natural course, knowing that I’ll be there to point a camera at all the important moments whenever they happen.
Always a collaboration
When all is said and done, no matter how sneaky and unobtrusive I am, great wedding photography is always a result of a fantastic photographer & couple collaboration. The trust that results from connecting quickly with couples and guests allows me to see and feel what’s really going on from a relaxed and natural perspective. The more we connect, the more comfortable everyone feels and the more accurately the pictures reflect the ‘real you’ and everything else that makes a day like this so special. My aim is that every single person I spend a wedding day with simply sees me as a friend who happens to have a camera.
Endearing. Honest. Expressive.
Although it’s hard to describe my style with words, I think it would be fair to say that it’s mostly creative documentary storytelling with a dash of fine art and a huge amount of heart. Endearing, Honest & Expressive. I’m always focused on making images that really mean something. Rather than go on and on, I’d much rather you take a look at a few real weddings on my blog and the video showreel above so you can make up your own mind. If what I do truly resonates with you, let’s have a chat about your big day soon. It all starts here…

Travel
I’m based in Wagga Wagga, NSW and shoot both locally and all over Australia and beyond. I’d say around half the weddings I photograph are more than a few hours from home. I’ve captured weddings all over Australia and New Zealand over the last 10+ years and really enjoy discovering new places, new stories and new people. If your wedding destination is more than two hours away from Wagga Wagga NSW, I simply charge for fuel & reasonable accommodation if required. For international weddings, it’s usually return flights, reasonable accommodation and a hire car.
Albums (Fine Art Books)
Nothing can compare to the magic of seeing your wedding in a Fine Art Book. Our beautiful books bring a series of photographs to life in a way that single images can’t. Your wedding reads like a story, just the way it was captured, just the way it happened. Time after time, these books blow our couples away. Every book is printed on fine art, museum quality paper with vibrant and vivid archival inks. They also feature true lay-flat spreads and binding quality that can only be achieved by hand. The design process of your book is a collaborative one. We love working closely with you, making sure your fine art book far surpass your expectations. I promise, this is a book you’ll want to keep looking at forever. Check out Dave and Ashleigh’s book below…
Couples (Engagement) Sessions
Couples sessions are my favourite thing to shoot hands down. Spending a relaxed afternoon together being photographed in a light-hearted and fun fashion is a fantastic way to document such a special time in your life. There’s simply no better way for us to get to know each other and as a fringe-benefit, we get to make some great pictures together. My strength is creating an environment where you can be 100% yourselves. The other benefit to a pre-wedding session is the fact that you’ll get to know what it’s going to be like to have me around on your actual wedding day. You’ll be confident and ready to be yourself right from the start.
Family Photography

My Style
Raw nostalgia in subtle cinematic tones is what I am all about. Real moments. Genuine interactions. You won’t find super cheesy happy-snaps here. If you’re wondering what on earth that means, check out my blog here and let the photos fill in the blanks.
I’m a big believer that a series of curated images add up to much more than a single image ever could be on it’s own, so I always aim to tell a story with my work.
My Approach
Improvised, and instinctive. I like to react to what’s in front of me rather than repeating the same pre-conceived approach. Every family unit is different so I strive to dig into that and show it off. I want to deliver unique images that depict something natural and real. Calm, patient and fun is how I would describe how I approach photography in a practical sense. I’m extremely focused on what I am doing artistically, but I’m always the least stressed out person at a session.
There’s nothing to be gained by forcing children to do things they don’t want to do. Let’s face it, that approach always results in awful photos and an awful time for everyone. Over the years I have developed an iron-clad level of patience and understanding when it comes to kids and I go to great lengths to create a safe, relaxed, understanding environment at all times.
